Catholic Vitamin C: Cobble Show Notes

All of life… every breath… every sunrise and new day is blessing. The hummers at our backyard feeder, the snow-capped rim north of us and 1,500 feet higher than our elevation. The Divine Mercy that gives me hope and which leads me to go back to the Sacrament of Reconciliation again and again. It’s all blessing.

And so too is our work – our limited scope of work in this field of New Evangelization. What a blessing to ‘cobble’ together a show from a several sources who are so very inspiring. We start with our regular and hugely unpaid correspondents: Marianna Bartholomew – a seven time National Press Association winner, Justin Stroh, a 20+ year composer, singer and evangelist for the Catholic faith, and up-and-coming deacon candidate Fergal O’Neil from Naas, Ireland.

And then — and then for this show, we add two beautiful voices of evangelization and teaching.

Sonja CorbittThere’s SONJA CORBITT from Tennessee. From her website: www.pursuingthesummit.com here are some words about Sonja:

Pursuing the Summit

As a Catholic author and speaker on the Scriptures, Sonja Corbitt’s potent Bible teaching, vivid speaking style, and gripping Bible studies inspire and equip Catholics everywhere who long for intimacy with God.

A sought-after speaker in the Catholic community and author of her own high-impact DVD-driven Bible study series, Sonja uses Scripture study in every media to help others foster intimacy with God, improve biblical literacy, and promote serious Catholicity.

Wherever He (the LORD) is found – in the Sacraments, the Scriptures, or “distressing disguise” – the Word of God is Sonja’s favorite thing.

And then there is a longtime voice from countless conferences and Catholic Charismatic events around the world: the awesome PATTI MANSFIELD. From the website that Patti and her husband at www.ccrno.org/AlandPatti.php  here is some information about Patti:

Patti Gallagher Mansfield was a participant in the February 1967 “Duquesne Weekend” which marked the beginning of the Charismatic Renewal in the Catholic Church. From the earliest days of the Renewal she has served as a leader through teaching, writing and pastoral ministry. Patti’s testimony has been widely published and she has been a speaker at conferences and retreats for laity and priests in the United States and around the world. She is a frequent guest on Ralph Martin’s television program: The Choices We Face. Patti Mansfield
Patti has authored several books including: Proclaim His Marvelous Deeds, As By A New Pentecost: The Dramatic Beginning of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal with a Foreword by Cardinal Suenens and Magnificat: A Mother’s Reflections on Mary. She also has many teaching CDs.

We particularly thank Sonja for permission to use selected portions of her work for this show and over time. We thank the management of the Catholic Conferences at Franciscan University of Steubenville for giving us permission to play excerpts from some of the great and uplifting talks and speakers at FUS. You can find more information about Franciscan conferences at their website: http://www.franciscanconferences.com/  And the great thing is that you can go to the FUS bookstore link and order any of the speaker CD’s for listening to over and over.

That’s how we COBBLE this show and we think it’s a pretty darn potent Catholic Vitamin if we do say so ourselves.
