Catholic Vitamin V Vibrant

VIBRANT? Yes, we’d say our guest ANNE DESANTIS is pretty… and Vibrant. She’s a model, an actress, a TV personality… more important, she’s a Catholic, a wife and mother who is also a member of the lay community of the Mercedarian Order. Never heard of them? It’s the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Of Mercy)… the order of Mercedarian Friars of the U.S.A. We’ll share more about the Mercedarians in a second.

Guest Anne is involved in the ministry work of the order, but she also has her own TV show found on RVNTV.TV (that’s the website) and her TV program is called THE POSITIVE SIDE. You can visit the site and watch current or earlier programs, and many others found on RVNTV. Anne also has a Youtube channel – just go to www.youtube.com/annedesantis to see some of her work.

The Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy, also known as the Mercedarian Friars, was founded in 1218 and is an international community of priests and brothers, who live a life of prayer and communal fraternity based on the Rule of Saint Augustine and the Constitutions of the Order. From this life flows the apostolic work that seeks to carry on the work of their founder, Saint Peter Nolasco, who in imitation of Jesus the Redeemer, offered even his life for those Christians in need of redemptive love. As Mercedarians, they seek to proclaim the freedom of the Gospel message to all who are in captivity and in danger of losing their faith giving even our lives, should it be necessary for the sake of the captives in parishes, chaplaincies, and schools.

And BTW: Our feature music for this show was provided by a prior guest: GRETCHEN HARRIS, found at www.gretchen-harris.com  She’s a most lovely woman and an equally lovely artist. She has some seven CDs available through her website. Tell her the Catholic Vitamins Podcast team sent you. And thanks to Gretchen.
