Catholic Vitamin A Abandonment

Over the last year plus, I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve thanked the Lord for the people he’s helped us to meet, and to bring to you on Catholic Vitamins. Bishops, priests, nuns, authors, musicians. I shouldn’t mention any names because it may hurt the feelings of so many other good people. But I remember our first show with Fr. Mark Rutherford who helped us look at Vitamin A: Adoration. I think fondly of Lisa Hendey from Catholic Mom and Catholic Moments when she joined a close family friend Mary Campbell when we talked about Vitamin H for Hope. Both women are survivors of breast cancer.

I think with tenderness of the time we started interviewing parishioners and friends Bob and Darlene Closs for the Vitamin F Family show. We couldn’t stop with one show segment and we had them on for a special two part show. And the same thing happened with Doctor Russ Rentler when we found out his wonderful and touching story of his journey out of and then back to the Catholic faith. It still makes me tender. And there’s something haunting and true in his music as well.

And then, there are people like our guest today: Seth DeMoor of One Billion Stories. Seth — a young college graduate from a so-called party school, the University of Colorado at Boulder — Seth decides that if he’s to be a true and complete disciple of Christ… if he’s to really follow a call that’s in his heart — he has to abandon himself completely. That’s our show. That’s our topic: ABANDONMENT.

FITNESS FOR FAITH

Meet Our Newest Contributor:

PEGGY BOWES

Welcome Peggy. And listeners to Catholic Vitamins, please join in greeting Peggy as she presents a mini segment each week that looks at the intersection of faith and fitness. We also recommend you look for Peggy’s awesome book (which does sound like it somehow shouldn’t be together — but try it) THE ROSARY WORKOUT BOOK by Bezalel Books.

Peggy Bowes is a devout Catholic, freelance writer and the author of The Rosary Workout. She graduated from the US Air Force Academy in 1988 and served nine years as an Air Force pilot.  After leaving the military to raise a family, Peggy pursued her lifelong passion for fitness, becoming a personal trainer and weight loss consultant.  She is also very active in parish life serving as a lector, CCD teacher, and Little Flowers Girls’ Club leader.  She enjoys triathlons, hiking, adventure races, and other sports as she incorporates all the benefits and blessings of The Rosary Workout.  Peggy and her husband and two children currently reside in North Carolina.

PRO-LIFE ACTIVITIES
Today, the day we’re put our show together is RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY in the Catholic Church. We talked on the show about things we’ve done. One of the small activities we recommend is VOTE PRO LIFE Yard Signs. They are available through Heritage House – a wonderful supplier of pro-life materials. You can find them on the web at:
