It’s a best of show from July of 2014, as we revisit the Detroit home of the late BLESSED SOLANUS CASEY. He embodied the faith-vitamin for this show: Catholic Vitamin J for JOCUND. During his long years of service at the monastery on the east side of Detroit, Father Solanus listened to every visitor who had any sort of problem… illness… marital problems… unemployment… finances… hunger… He always listened but Father Casey never lost this gift. He was jocund, meaning cheerful and lighthearted. When Blessed Casey died, they say 10,000 people came to participate in his funeral.
Our interview is with Fr. Larry Webber; he’s the curator of the Solanus Casey museum, and the moderator of the crypt and burial area when Fr. Casey’s remains are buried. He shares about the holy aspects of a humble servant of the people of God, and Fr. Larry also shares about some of the humorous and tender aspects of the life of Father Solanus.
Blessings of Holy Week and Easter from Deacon Tom and Dee.
